What to Expect from Your Session
Please wear comfortable and loose clothing. Please be sure not to have zippers, snaps, buttons or other objects on your clothes which may catch on the table.
On your first visit, we will review your intake form. Next, a thorough range of motion exam will be preformed. Once an imbalance is discovered, a simple muscle strength test will be done. If an inhibited muscle is identified, the corresponding tendon attachments will be palpated and/or an isometric exercise will be performed. The same strength test will be repeated to ensure muscle activation has occurred. The MAT Specialist may use their hands and body to hold/guide limb orientations/positions and provide the barriers to motion during the iso-angular contraction. This, in a nutshell, is what MAT is all about. You will then be given corresponding isometrics to do at home to reinforce our work in the session.
